Mary Kay Cosmetics walked into my life at the very young age of 19, June 1993. When I started my business, I never thought I would be doing this as a form of income, rather it was just for the discount. I knew that I loved the products and was smart enough to not pay full price for them. I was what they called an undercover consultant for many years and just dabbled in the business enjoying our 50% discount. After I graduated from the University of Toledo in 1994, I pursued my career in the legal field as a litigation paralegal. Loving what I did in my industry, I knew that my Mary Kay business was a great way to make extra money and it did that for many years. However, I knew there would be a time that I was going to want to step away from corporate and be a mother and wanted a plan B. This plan would allow me to be at home and still make an income to help with the family. Fast-forward to 2010 and I married my husband and we decided to start our family. All the years leading up to this I always kept amazing customer support and took care of my customers. After my first son was born in 2011, it was decided that I was going to stay home and raise him instead of him going into day care. 2012 we were blessed with our second son and what was great was that I was able to experience true taste of life balance as a #momboss and I loved it. Consistency and not giving up when life can be hard or when we get disappointments, I was making more money than I did at my usual full-time job! All the years of my prepping was just another blessing for me and allowed me to be the best version of myself that I could be for my family. With all my knowledge and having fun along the way I decided to go into management with the company where I started to see a considerable financial jump in my income, and I have not looked back since. What is so amazing about this opportunity is that it is not a standard cookie cutter type that is successful. With anything success takes hard work and discipline. These last 30 years have been a joy with taking care of my customers as well as mentoring the women who have come along with me on the journey and decided to join the business. Mary Kay has been around 60 years this May 2023 and we only expect it to continue to flourish and grow women into whatever they want their business to look like. Today my boys are 11 and 10 and they have seen me grow into my position of a business owner and momtrepreneur teaching them amazing life skills that I am truly grateful for. I’ve been married for 12 years to my amazing husband who supports what I do and lets me soar so I can teach other women what I’ve learned about living their lives in balance!
