Genesis House is the only domestic violence shelter in Lorain County. Our goal is to act as social change agents by providing comprehensive services surrounding intimate partner violence. We work to prevent abusive relationships though our community based education programming and champion healthy relationships. Our intervention services for folks experiencing domestic abuse include shelter in an undisclosed location to ensure safety for victims and legal advocacy to support victims as they navigate the justice system. We provide support groups and after-care services for survivors who need on-going additional support. We also recognize that in order to truly end domestic violence we have to address batterers. Genesis House facilitates the only true batterers intervention program that meets and exceeds best practice state standards in Lorain County.
