I'm Kara Zollos, photographer and owner of Studio Z Photography in Avon, Ohio. I've been fascinated by photography ever since I was little and was given my first point and shoot film camera for my birthday! I took pictures of literally anything and everything that would stand still. In high school and college, I took some photography and art courses, but it wasn't until I was grown, and had my four amazing kids for inspiration, that I really considered doing it as a profession. I started out joining the Cleveland Photographic Society and realized I had found my passion! It wasn't long before I decided to begin this new journey in life and create Studio Z! Since beginning my business, I experimented with many genres and discovered that my first love was in photographing seniors and teens! They're so full of energy and love to get creative! However, it's not only about taking photos for me, it's about telling each person's unique story. I'm inspired by them every day! I l get such enjoyment out of helping them express themselves through creativity and art, while also giving them a fun, confidence building experience in the process. Currently, I've also found that I have another love in photographing branding, business lifestyle sessions, and headshots. I've been developing this as a new niche for Studio Z in addition to seniors and teens. I really enjoy helping businesses, entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals show their own unique brand voice and provide them content they can use throughout the year to connect with their ideal audience. One great thing about having a small business is being able to dedicate lots of time with people, build relationships, and really get to know them and understand their individual needs. Lastly, I also love shooting women’s portraiture. It’s so hugely rewarding for me to help to build women up, help instill confidence and self-esteem, and show women of all ages, shapes, and sizes how beautiful and amazing they truly are. This is something I hope to build upon and do much more of in heading into the future! As far as accolades go, we've been internationally published and have won many competitions and awards over the years. We've also been featured in many of the top senior and teen photography sites and magazines in the country. It’s not all about the accolades, but they do keep me on my toes in learning and experimenting with new things, staying creative, and always striving for the next goal. I truly love my job and feel so fortunate to be able to wake up and do this every day!
