Mary Kay Cosmetics walked in to my life unexpectedly in September of 2003. I started my business for the sole purpose of being able to work 5hrs a week or less for Christmas cash. I dabbled in my business here and there to pay for small extra’s for my first 3yrs. By late September of 2005 I'd become a single mother at the time with a newborn, and in need of cash while on maternity leave. I turned to my MK Business! I had my first taste of life balance as a #momboss. I took Gavin with me, wrapped him to my chest in a mobi and taught women about how to care for their skin. Within a few weeks I was making more money than I did at my usual full time job! I did go back to work reluctantly feeling like that was the responsible choice. My decision to leave corporate America behind became abundantly clear to me when I wanted to switch shifts with a co-worker to attend a Dr. appointment for my son. I was “reminded” that I had already been gone for 8 weeks, and that as a “single mom with a great job, I might want to get my priorities straight”! I have never forgotten that conversation, it was my turning point. I have been working my MK business as a career ever since! My children are 17 and 13, I’ve been married for 14 years, and I’m incredibly passionate about teaching other women what I’ve learned about living their lives in balance!
