IU Insurance Group
Bonnie has been working in the Insurance Industry since 2014. This career change came as the result of being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2013. After being out of the work force for well over a year, she accepted an offer from a local State Farm Agent to join his team. Focusing mostly on Property and Casualty Insurance while at State Farm, she accepted an offer from Western and Southern Life in 2016. It was here that she harnessed her passion to help people and learned that she can really make a difference in people’s lives. While at Western and Southern, she earned her Series 6 designation in order to further help her clients from birth to retirement.
Bonnie became and Independent Agent in January of 2017 in order to be able to help more people. Her personal passion lies in helping women avoid many of the mistakes she has made in her personal life through education and outreach.
Just prior to her Breast Cancer diagnoses, Bonnie worked as the Admissions and Marketing Director for a local Nursing and Rehab Center. Her work history is eclectic and varied, epitomizing the value of a Liberal Arts Education and the ability to reinvent oneself as needed. Her professional positions include Advertising Account Executive for The Morning Journal and The Art of Living Director for HarborWalk on the Black River, both in Lorain, Ohio.
Bonnie moved to Lorain for a job and stayed for love. She shares her life with her own “Kurt Russell” and their 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Bonnie received her BA in Drama with a Minor in Women’s Studies from Cleveland State University. She earned her Associate of Arts from Cuyahoga Community College in Liberal Arts. Honors include winning two scholarships for Drama. She interned with The Kenley Players, The Cleveland Ballet, and The Cleveland Playhouse. After college she worked as a Freelance Production Assistant with Belkin Production for over 6 years. As she tells it, this experience led to Event Planning, which led to Advertising and Marketing, and eventually to Sales.
Her personal goals include growing her agency, joining the board of a local charity, public speaking and writing at least one book.
