Director of Development
Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center
The Mission of Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center is to empower individuals, educate the community and advocate for justice to end domestic violence and child abuse. DVCAC has almost 40 years of history leading the community in responding to victims of domestic violence and child abuse and working to break the cycle of abuse via prevention, intervention, and community education. Our model is grounded in self-determination, and operates with a strength-based and empowerment philosophy while incorporating best practices and evidenced-based strategies. As best-practices have emerged in the field, DVCAC has moved toward a model of a comprehensive approach of providing leadership to create responsive systems, offering an array of services and programs, and addressing the need for primary prevention. The agency is dedicated to healthy relationships and provides a continuum of services for persons of all ages who have been victims of, or are at risk of being victims of, domestic violence, child abuse, or other family or relationship violence. It is the only organization in Cuyahoga County devoted solely to the issue of domestic violence and child abuse. The agency reaches over 37,000 men, women and children annually. Today, DVCAC is being held up as a national model specifically for the integration of the children’s program and domestic violence programming which empowers adult victims. As the Director of Development I ensure that the business development side of the organization is achieved, that the community is informed of what we do and our services through communications and public relations methods and that volunteers are engaged to meet the needs of our agency so we can continue to make an impact in the communities we serve.
